Someone Hurt Me

by Susan Cavaciuti - £7.99  Vital Health Publishing (2004)
paperback    ISBN 13: 9781890995201 | ISBN 10: 1890995207

Someone Hurt Me encourages abused children to work through their feelings and aids them in the healing process. Its vivid illustrations and empathetic text provide a graphic focus for their emotions and help them to articulate how they feel. With spirit strengthened, each child is assured that they are not alone – there are people who can be trusted to help them.

Susan Cavaciuti wrote this book from her personal experience as a trauma survivor as well as from her professional experience as a consultant in Creative Arts for Health. Susan is whole-heartedly dedicated to the use of the Higher Arts to enhance the quality of life. Her illustrations have been published in several books, including My Whole Food ABC's , Stevia Sweet Recipes: Sugar-Free – Naturally! and Taste Life! The Organic Choice.

Someone Hurt Me is designed as a communication link to an abused child. It offers a way to reach inside the child, helping them to express their troubled emotions. The illustrations guide the child through the darkness and pain (black and white pictures with a shadowy figure), through their questions and jumbled emotions (abstract dark and bright images), and into the light (colorful scenery and bright sun). The butterfly is a symbol of change through struggle, freedom from restraint, and beauty radiating from within.
