Josh and Jaz Have Three Mums

by Hedi Argent and Amanda Wood - £9.95  BAAF (2007)
paperback    ISBN 13: 9781905664122 | ISBN 10: 1905664125

Josh and Jaz are five-year-old twins who have been adopted. They live with their two mums, Sue and Fran, and their dog Bumps. When their school teacher asks them to produce a family tree, the twins are upset and worried that everyone in their class will laugh because they live with two mums. Josh and Jaz want to be like everyone else and just have one mum and dad. And what will they say about their birth parents?

Sue and Fran help the children understand that every family tree will tell a different story and that life would be very boring if all all families were the same. Working together, they draw a family tree that Josh and Jaz are really proud of and that everyone in the class thinks is great.

A heartwarming story for young children that encourages an understanding and appreciation of same-sex parents, as well as showing that families come in all shapes and sizes.
