Soft George: A Liverpool Tale

by Bill Dawson, illustrated by Helen Bennett - £7.99  Damp Dog Books (2014)
paperback    ISBN 13: 9780992809409 | ISBN 10: 0992809401

Soft George: A Liverpool Tale is Bill Dawson's first book.

A tale about devilish dragon a gruesome giantess, two dashing princes and Soft George. A Liverpool Legend.

It's a story Bill created when he was resident storyteller at St George's Hall in Liverpool. Over the years he has told the tale many times and it is always a favourite of audiences. He knew that the story had really taken hold though when he returned to a school and a teaching assistant told him that she now tells everyone who visits her in Liverpool about Soft George

Bill finally got round to putting the story down on paper and then the search was on to find an illustrator. After a few false starts he found the wonderful Helen Bennett. She managed to find the essence of Bill's characters and turn them into wonderful pictures.
